Academy for Phone Technicians in Kenya

With rapid expansions in major IT sectors in Africa, there has been an increase in demand for qualified technicians. In Kenya, a mobile phone dealer, Techno service has seen the need to introduce a national academy for training phone technicians, in collaboration with handset maker Nokia.

Many handsets are destroyed by unqualified technicians in these IT sectors in Africa, who have little or no knowledge on how to repair the handset. Techno serve is collaborating with the Kenyan ministry of education to establish a proper syllabus for the curriculum.

On the current African IT market, there are unqualified individuals who play on the ignorance of many customers only to end up with their handsets being destroyed. It should be noted that some of the problems with these handsets could be minor.
